Night Aerial Photography in Boise, Idaho (BSU vs. ISU, 8/30/08)

Here are two more night aerials from 8/30/08. One is shot with a very long lens and the other shot at a wide angle, demonstrating that both are quite possible, even with subjects that aren’t the easiest to compose.

The pixels on this project are about half an inch. This is a fairly standard benchmark with the cameras and lenses we use-the manufacturers’ labels on building materials are readable.

A Simple Exercise in High Resolution Image Internet Access

Typically one must download an entire high resolution image in order to view the minutiae. Some of our files exceed 500MEG uncompressed, so use on mobile devices is obviated and use on even high speed connections is ponderous.

The Marriage of Aerial & Architectural Photography, Boise, Idaho 6/19/08

This aerial of the new Royal Plaza in downtown Boise is a bit of a hybrid-both an aerial and classic architectural exercise. The real trick on this shoot was to have the structure properly lit and to keep adjacent structures or their shadows from obscuring any of the subject-no small task.
