Idaho Airships, Inc. PhotoSynth Featured on Microsoft Live Labs Website
Apr 2nd, 2009 by Leo A. Geis
Our 1/22/09 PhotoSynth of the Idaho State Capitol renovation has been featured on the Microsoft Live Labs website!
Look just to the right of the Giza Pyramids at the center of the page. Here’s the direct link. As of 4/2/09 it has been the subject of over 5,300 renders.
If you’re on a Mac, you’ll need to view it on the Silverlight PhotoSynth site.
We’re honored, especially since that particular PhotoSynth production was our very first (there is a bit of a learning curve in the process) and it was produced not for visual appeal but for the preservation of details.
It was imaged under a very heavy overcast so that there were no shadows. Odd as it seems-in such assignments we consider direct lighting and shadows to be hostile.
On 3/27/09 we produced our fourth PhotoSynth-of St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center. Again, we shot under a heavy overcast to obviate shadows and specular highlights. Here it is for PC and Mac. This is a far superior production-note that you can simply drag the control and the point cloud and associated images will spin without interruption.
Here’s an example of the detail available in the full resolution images (the internet versions are reduced in size so that you can view them over a typical connection):
