A 360-Degree Aerial Photosynth of the Idaho State Capitol Renovation, 1/21/09
Jan 22nd, 2009 by Leo A. Geis
Here’s a 360-Degree Aerial Photosynth “tour” of the Idaho State Capitol undergoing renovation, imaged on 1/21/09.
It’s composed of 287 different images and was shot under “balanced” lighting conditions (an overcast) for a reason-so that we wouldn’t have to deal with obscurative shadowing and variable exposure issues.

Under sunny skies this image of the north side of the Capitol would be objectionably contrasty. Shot under an overcast it offers up great detail!
One issue with Photosynth is that-since it is a Microsoft product-it is limited to PC’s only…and then to PC’s with XP or Vista.
Here’s the link to the Photosynth.
We’re planning on doing several of these around the state over the next few weeks, provided good balanced lighting. None of them are for “artistic” purposes-they’re strictly documentary.
