The sRGB Color Space is predicated upon the D65 illuminant (which is different than natural 6500K light) and has an effective Gamma of 2.2 (although its actual Gamma is variable throughout the curve-it is nearly linear in the extreme low key). sRGB was not created for use specifically on color managed equipment or under the [...]

Gradient Maps can produce some very interesting effects. Given clever manipulations, including Transparency adjustments, Blending Modes, and their application in tandem with Filters to manipulate Layer Masks, Gradient Maps prove themselves to be extraordinarily controllable and powerful tools.
