Aerial Photography of the Boise River at the Settlers’ Canal Headgate, Boise, Idaho, October 2007
Oct 11th, 2007 by Leo Geis
This is a technical portfolio of a small portion of the Boise River in east Parkcenter on 10/7/07. These images were shot for maximum detail-none of them are cropped, and even
at the small size they are formatted to for internet display it is obvious that they provide sub-inch pixels (navigate to Screen 2).
The use of stabilized equipment is crucial on these types of assignments. The River and wetland areas stay cool, while the adjacent developed areas tend to radiate great deals of heat from the concrete and asphalt in the direct sun-especially at low altitude the ride can be very unstable.

Because the preparation of each image is recorded, and the recording capabilities of Photoshop are somewhat limited, exposure is adjusted globally-in this case, the exposure for the entire image is based upon correct exposure for the water and shaded area, while the trees in the right of the frame are allowed to remain overexposed. Localized Dodging and Burning are not appropriate for certain image applications.
