NVidia Quadro (ForceWare) Update Release 162
Aug 16th, 2007 by Leo Geis
I have complained bitterly about the multimonitor performance of Flash 8 & CS3, PSCS & CS3…-All were choppy when opening or repositioning Panels, and even cursor commands were hesitant-something far from acceptable running a $1400 video card on a dual core 939 AMD 64×2 at >2.6GHz (Quadro FX3xxx in my main workstation, Quadro FX11xx in my print server/backup workstation). I tried everything from fiddling with PCI latency (was using a supplemental PCI VGA for a third monitor at the time) to overclocking both GPU and video RAM to adjusting aperture size to a different PSU, but nothing seemed to resolve the issue. I hesitated to fiddle with my Registry in RivaTuner, though it is an attractive potential for the more adventurous.
…and no, I don’t recommend softmodding a GeForce into a Quadro. I’m certain (see the driver EULA) it’s unethical if not illegal to do so.
However! I just installed the ForceWare Release 162 Driver released 8/8/07. Download it here.
Multimonitor problem solved. Wasn’t the application after all.
